Stamp on it ! Blog Hop....

Once again Mdm Samm with Cheerleader Thearica have come up with an interesting Blog Hop...Thank you for all your work & motivation !
This time we were to design a Stamp that had our country, currency & a theme on it....

The first thing that came into my mind of how I see Germany ...or should I say what I learned since living here was " Cake & Coffee time!
But I figured those who have never been to Germany wouldn't understand that ( just so you know...Germany has the best tortes I have ever eaten ...my big butt is proof of it !)

So I decided to go with something that everyone would recognize....Beer & Pretzels !
Germany second pastime! LOL

I machine embroidered the Beer & Pretzel ...I did it in the German flags colors ( black red gold) and I decided my stamp would cost 61 cents ...the year I was born. Even though this makes it more then we pay right now for a stamp ( 58 Cents) ....the extra 3 cents would go to promoting Sewing in the schools...after all we need more Quilters !

I didn't trim off the extra fabric since I wasn't sure what I wanted to make with this stamp ?? Should I turn it into a Mug Rug, apply it to a bag ?? What do you think I should make with it ?? Stamp is 5" square.

Hope you liked my little stamp....now be sure to hop over to the other Blogs and see what everyone else has created !

Moments  --- You are HERE!!

Hugs,
P.S. The rest of the weeks Blog Hop links are here....

  1. I don't know what I would make but I would not make a mug rug. It would get dirty and you put too much work into it.

  5. Hi Liz! How is your knee???
I have a question: did you digitalize your beer and pretzel by yourself? It looks great.
In international school our son had to present germany for the german month (it was a hard job for a preschooler) and we noticed that it is not that easy to sort out typical german things... And that it is quite funny to see what other people from other countries think about that topic :-)
    Have a nice day!
    Hugs!

  12. Your stamp is wonderful. It would be great on a bag.

I lived in Germany three years. German is my second language. I agree with you about the tortes. I miss the great food, the wine and the fabulous bakeries with those delicious tortes and superb coffee. We were fortunate to have a friend with a boat. Loved our time on the Rhine going to Strasburg for lunch.

  22. That turned out just gorgeous...love it! You could add some fabric to the edges and make a pillow or put it in a frame on your wall. Whatever you do with it, it is really a piece of art so don't let it get lost in a pile of UFOs. ;O)

  23. That is absolutely the cutest thing I have ever seen. What a great stamp... love your reason to pay a little more postage. We need more like you around! :-) Personally, I think your "Stamp" would be too cute on a "market" bag. You would be the fashionista of the grocery store! :-)

  45. Ive been to your beautiful country back in 1984, and yes, pretzels and beer were the absolute best there. I love how you embroidered the beer stein and pretzel, very creative. I enjoyed visiting the castles in Bentheim, I believe the name was or was it Bad Bentheim, either way, we enjoyed ourselves as my husband was working for a Dutch company in The Netherlands. Thank you for helping me remember the wonderful time we had there.
